Motorhome Depot is delighted to offer this wonderfully characterful 1973 Volkswagen T2 Viking, an exceptionally rare one owner example that has remained with the same keeper from new. Showing approximately 165,279 miles, it is powered by the classic 1.6 litre petrol engine and retains its distinctive period Viking interior. A replacement engine was fitted in June 2019 at approximately 154,320 miles, meaning it has covered only around 11,000 miles since. It also benefits from an outstanding MOT history, with virtually no advisories recorded over many years.
Specification includes: Viking elevating roof, two roof bunk beds, two burner gas hob and grill, built in period fridge, electric hook up, 240V sockets, interior lighting, stereo system, removable dining table, fitted curtains, generous storage cupboards, Porta Potti, front mounted spare wheel and two sets of keys.
Inside, the traditional Viking conversion provides an inviting and highly practical living space. The rear features opposing seating finished in wonderfully retro tartan upholstery, creating a comfortable dining and relaxation area around the removable table. When required, the seating converts to form a spacious double bed.
The elevating roof provides valuable additional headroom while camping and incorporates two further sleeping berths, making this a genuine four berth camper. The compact kitchen area retains its period charm and includes the gas hob, grill, fridge and useful storage for cooking equipment and provisions.
Up front is the unmistakable T2 cab, complete with its wonderfully simple period dashboard and commanding driving position. Four travelling seatbelts are fitted, allowing the whole family to enjoy this very special classic camper.
Complete with a long documented history, two sets of keys and an MOT valid until January 2027, this is a remarkably preserved example of an increasingly collectable Volkswagen camper. Its one owner history makes it particularly unusual and it offers an excellent opportunity for somebody seeking a genuine classic that can still be enjoyed as intended.
