The hybrid design of the X-Cursion model brings fresh new thinking to the world of motorhomes and combined with Knaus group's superior build quality this little motorhome will make a wonderful travelling companion for it's next lucky owner.
Starting with the chassis, those who know their VW group vehicles will understand the 6.1 Transporter chassis is the final model built solely by VW. This particular example is a 150 BHP DSG equipped unit with premium Bluetooth infotainment system and generous base vehicle specification. This is aimed at a couple travelling in luxury with two belted seats and two sleeping places.
The exterior dimensions are a very compact 5.9m long, 2.16m wide and 2.84m high with a gross vehicle weight of just 3200kg. With these dimensions you would expect fairly restricted internal space but the Knaus design team have done a wonderful job of utilising the internal space.
Starting at the front you have the VW cab seats swivelling effortlessly to create a lounge space that could actually accommodate six people if required. Plenty of storage space above the lounge/dinette and throughout the interior. The lounge area was originally fitted with a fixed table, this has been removed by the current owners to generate a more free flowing interior but this can be easily refitted for the new owner.
Either side of the van you have the washroom and the kitchen. The washroom is a very well executed smart bathroom with a swing wall creating a generous shower area. Great usable storage also exists in the washroom. Cassette toilet and sink are standard and complete this very capable washroom.
The kitchen has a large compressor fridge, two burner hob and sink. Modern motorhome design is starting to move away from traditional cooking methods, smaller vans now regularly come without the traditional oven and grill facilities. In the additional specification below I will elaborate on this concept.
The final piece of the interior jigsaw is a very impressive full height garage style locker at the rear. This is accessible both internally and externally and has adjustable shelves that shoud cope with anyone's needs.
Standard specification of the 500 LT is excellent but the Pepper Edition adds a little extra. In this particular model you have a 27" Avtex TV, Oyster satellite, awning, reverse camera, alarm, Truma diesel heating system, alloy wheels and stylish lighting throughout. There is an upgraded entrance door which has rather cool coat hooks, it's the little features that make all the difference in compact vans.
In addition to the fantastic specification above the current owner has fitted high quality additional electronics to this van to make it very capable off grid. There is a 150Ah lithium battery, Victron 50a battery to battery charger and twin 115w solar panels with upgraded charge controller. All your battery information will be available through the Victron apps so you will never again suffer battery anxiety. This upgraded 12 volt system brings the ability to introduce modern cooking facilities like an air fryer. This is fast becoming the cooking equipment of choice for off grid use.
