The Toyota Alphard is a Japanese high-end interior and specification vehicle, and a great base for an attractive minivan camper conversion.
Behind the two cab seats are a double and a single seat forward facing row (2 x 3-point and 1 x lap belt). Towards the tailgate is a fold down, forward facing single seat (1 x 3-point belt), bring the total travel positions to six.
There is room beside the single rear seat for carriage of equipment, and raising the seat provides even more space for bulky loads.
The front, middle, and rear seats can be folded flat to form either a forward double sleeping position, or a rear single berth.
The middle seat row can be easily rotated to face backwards, and with the rear seat raised, this delivers a comfortable area for dining and leisure.
For in-vehicle power supply there is an external electrical hook up terminal, and in the rear of the vehicle it is equipped with an 2000w inverter (with two 240v 3-pin sockets), 2 x additional 240v sockets, a 12v socket, and a dual USB socket.
To add further versatility to the configuration, Northstar Specialist Vehicle Converters have fitted a pop-top roof tent (with a window in mesh netting and a zip cover on either side), a 2 berth roof bed on gas struts, and a solar panel. There is also a roof rail fitted under the pop top cover; when raised this can be accessed for attachment of a drive-way awning (purchase separately).
