Broker's Comments

This is a specialist race van design and conversion on the largest format Transit with host of features and in faultless condition. It has not been used for its intended purpose, and is therefore in pristine condition. For anyone looking for a specialist race van it is hard to beat. Even sourcing your own vehicle and converting it is unlikely to result in an as affordable end result, and this option removes a lot of time and hassle. Details of the conversion can be provided.

This vehicle is HPI clear.

The engine has been professionally re mapped rather than having been chipped, and is giving in the region of 180 BHP. On gentle runs it returns high 30's MPG, and in general non urban use, the figure is still respectable, in the low 30's. The six speed gearbox allows relaxed higher speed, but still economical cruising and the remap means less gear changes. This second owner van has just had an advisory clear MOT which runs to the last day in July next year.

The van was professionally converted by a company with considerable expertise which shows in the end result. Gas sign off certification is provided, and all of the electrics and appliances and safety aspects work as they should. There is, of course the 240 Volt hook up option too.

The racing side has a great rear garage which can take 2 motorbikes and all the associated equipment. There is an under slung jet wash tank. The garage is chequer plated with tie downs. There is an access hatch to and from the habitation area. It is designed so that the bikes are loaded rear wheel first as this gives more usable height for the fixed transverse bed. The awning has sides so that bikes can be worked on in the dry, and it is a great space to pass an evening too. The 2.2 litre engine is mated to a six speed gearbox and is Euro 6 compliant. The van weighs in at a licence friendly 3,500 KG, with an additional 200 KG payload to play with.

The habitation side is done to a similarly high standard. There is an integrated hob sink combination and a three way fridge. The interior is fully insulated and lined. The shower room has a bespoke GRP internal shell, which does away with the need for seams and joins on the walls. The shower is super powerful and is fed via the heater from a large under slung tank. The shower hose and head extends from its storage slot by the drop down sink, and has an on off lever all of its own. It can be extended through the window for the al fresco option. The grey waste tank is also beneath the coachwork, leaving more room for the things that matter inside the van.

There is a water heater, and a Propex brand space heater with blown air vents. The transverse bed is approximately 5'11" in length, and a good standard double in width. It has not been slept on. There are power outlets a plenty and USB charging sockets too. There is a split charge relay system and a great 3 way fridge. The lighting offers both warm and cool white LED options.

Externally, apart from the unblemished body work, there is a smart set of decals, which are actually in the more expensive wrap materials. This enables them to fit properly around the curves and recesses of the body work, and protects against lifting and peeling. Daylight running lights are standard. Ford load rated alloy wheels and appropriate tyres complete the stylish look of this van.

If it seems as though this is a thoughtful, practical and high quality conversion of a great base vehicle, that is because it is. If you are interested in viewing more pictures, a link can be provided on request.

The mileage on this vehicle was correct at the time of valuation, however the vehicle remains in use by the Seller until the point it is sold, therefore the mileage at the time of sale may be higher than that advertised.
