wonderful example of a Damon Daybreak American RV built in 2009 and recently
imported into the UK ( registered UK April 2021 ) and converted to a UK spec. The
Daybreak has an 8.1L Vortec V8 petrol engine, an Allison 6 speed automatic
gearbox, has only 20,500 miles on the clock and crucially, has long range LPG
conversion fitted for excellent fuel economy. This eight berth RV with nine
seatbelts, can also be driven with a ‘C1’ UK Driving License.
Other great
features include a hydraulic levelling system, two slide-outs, a 5.5kva petrol
generator, BBQ point and gas tank usage on-site, and two air-conditioning
units.
The living accommodation
is transformed, with the slide-outs providing so much extra space. The lounge
area has loads of seating with a single barrel chair, a four-seater dinette, a large sofa,
and cabin swivel chairs. It is possible to convert the dinette and sofa into two
double beds if required. The kitchen is centrally positioned and has a
microwave, 3-ring gas hob, a combined oven and grill, a large fridge with a separate
freezer and a lovely ceramic double sink.
Moving into
the sleeping accommodation in the rear of the RV, we have bunkbeds to our left
with a washroom opposite, which has a separate shower cubicle, a single bowl
sink within a vanity unit, and a standard size wc. The bedroom at the very
rear benefits from the second slide-out, which creates lots of space for the Queen
Island bed. These rooms can be closed off using solid wood partitions, for your
privacy.
As you would
expect from an American RV, the storage available is phenomenal with overhead
and under seating internal storage, cupboards and wardrobes and external lockers
including a full width rear low-level garage. A tow hitch with electrics is
also fitted and two awnings can be deployed for those hot summer days. Access to the roof is also provded with a ladder fitted at the rear.
