Full of classic campervan character, this 2006 Danbury Rio combines the unmistakable Volkswagen Type 2 shape with a practical camping layout. Finished in light blue and white, with a traditional roof rack, it’s a charming choice for weekends away, coastal trips and campsite holidays.
Powered by a 1.6-litre air-cooled petrol engine with manual transmission, this Brazilian-built VW has a professional Danbury conversion. The elevating roof adds useful headroom, while the rear rock and roll seat converts into a double bed, with further sleeping accommodation in the roof.
Inside, light wood-effect cabinetry, grey upholstery, patterned curtains and chequerboard flooring give the living area a welcoming retro feel. The side kitchen provides cooking facilities, refrigeration and a sink, while Webasto petrol heating helps keep things comfortable on cooler evenings.
Supplied with a canopy, gas bottle and hook-up cables, this Rio offers plenty of opportunity for its next owner to enjoy the campervan lifestyle. There are a few age-related rust spots, as noted during appraisal.
