This Volkswagen Crafter is a custom self-build, converted into a gas-free campervan set up for off-grid touring, with a fixed transverse rear bed, a full internal shower pod and a large rear garage.
Seating & Sleeping
The van offers five belted travel seats, two of which are provided by a rear Altair RIB 860mm bench that also carries ISOFIX child-seat mounting points and folds flat to form a lower bed. The front passenger seat is on a swivel base. A fixed transverse double bed sits across the rear, made possible by external side pods that add the extra width, and suits sleepers up to around 6'2".
Kitchen & Utilities
The kitchen runs along one side on a solid oak worktop and comes with a single-zone induction hob (this is a completely gas-free build), an Aobosi compressor fridge with a freezer/ice-box section, and a stainless steel sink with a hot and cold mixer tap plus a separate filtered drinking-water tap. A 100-litre fresh water tank is housed in the rear garage.
Comfort & Electrical
An Autoterm diesel hydronic heating system provides central heating through radiators, along with on-demand hot water. Power comes from a 280Ah lithium leisure battery paired with a Victron MultiPlus 2000W inverter/charger, running the 240V appliances including the induction hob. A 230V mains hook-up feeds a smart distribution panel. A fixed 4G Wi-Fi router is fitted for working or streaming on the move, and there are multiple USB and Lightning charging points throughout.
Storage & Extras
A full internal shower pod, tiled in a white herringbone finish, comes with a cassette toilet, pressurised hot and cold water and a blown-air outlet. A large rear garage provides external-access storage and houses the fresh water tank. A decorative tiled-effect floor runs throughout, with overhead lockers along both sides and door-mounted storage pockets.
Maintenance
The van comes with a brand-new 12-month MOT running until July 2027. The cambelt and water pump were replaced in 2025, around 500 miles ago. Invoices and receipts are available.
