Mercedes Axor 1829 4x4 Overland Expedition Motorhome Truck

The truck was professionally built over 2 years and was completed in 2022.

The truck base is a Mercedes Axor 1829 4x4 18ton on a 62 plate (2012) with 3 diff locks and hub reduction axles. The lorry has covered only 8000 miles (13523 kms) from new. The dimensions are 10.5 meters long, 2.5 meters wide and 4.3 meters high.

The vehicle started life with BT’s fleet as a flatbed Hiab truck (and whilst they need to have truck configured to the spec), it was rarely used by them. The crane and flatbed were removed, then handed the truck to Freight Shield to fabricate a one-off habitation unit and subframe to strict specifications and fitted it to the truck, once painted, the truck then went to Van Art to have a one-off versatile and welcoming handmade interior installed.

The truck has been built and specified for long extended trips or live in full time, it is in excellent condition with everything (and more) needed to live in, or literally explore & travel the world.

No expense has been spared during the build and its maintenance, with hundreds of thousands spent. It is a lovely truck to drive with an easy 8 speed manual gearbox, 4 wheel drive and electronic diff lock systems. With its 6370cc, (286bhp) 6 cylinder diesel engine, it can retain reasonable fuel economy and plenty of power with an approximate 7-ton payload!

This is a very reluctant sale of a well-built unique expedition overland vehicle that needs for nothing and is ready for its next adventure! Recent full service with 2 new tyres, MOT valid until 30/6/2027.Habitation Inspection Report completed on 6/7/2026. New engine starter batteries in early 2026 (24V system)
