When Hymer first launched the S790 it became the benchmark that all other motorhomes were measured against. This astonishing motorhome is loaded with every conceivable extra you could ever want. The current owner has toured around Europe, been to the Sahara and even the edge of the Arctic Circle in this motorhome which is fully winterised. Everything about this vehicle has been designed to offer its owners five-star luxury accommodation and the ability to wild camp for weeks on end. And with an upgrade in weight to 5500 kg you have a huge payload which allows you fill up the garage and go away for months on end.
Built on the highly acclaimed Mercedes Sprinter chassis this left hand drive motorhome has automatic transmission and a powerful 3.0 litre engine. The driver benefits from cruise control, speed limiter, cab air con and a multi-media unit with sat nav, in-built reversing camera and an an excellent sound system. There are also full cab privacy blinds and both front seats swivel.
The interior layout consists of a large fixed rear double bed with lots of storage space both in the overhead lockers and by the side of the bed. Rather than trying to clamber up a ladder each evening there are a couple of low steps to navigate which makes getting in and out of bed very easy. A huge roof light throws in plenty of daylight and there is a wall mounted TV/DVD player if you fancy watching your favourite programmes or films from the comfort of your bed. Exiting the bedroom you have the washroom on your left and a large shower with a screen on your right and as you would expect from Hymer they are made to an exceptionally high standard.
The mid-kitchen has an oven and grill, a 3 gas burner hob, a full size fridge freezer, a large stainless steel sink with a mixer tap and lots of storage space for your pots and pans so rustling up a gastronomic meal on your travels will be a breeze. Then towards the front is the lounge and dinette which features an extending multi-directional dining table and an L shape sofa fitted with 2 travelling seat belts. A skylight and the large lounge windows throw in plenty of natural light. Above the cab is a huge pull down bed which sleeps 2 adults in real comfort. Heating and hot water run off the excellent Alde system.
Some of the standout features of this motorhome are the petrol generator, an inverter, 4 solar panels, 3 leisure batteries, habitation and cab air conditioning, self seeking satellite dish, a 5 metre awning and an LPG tank but there are many more to list.
