An opportunity to purchase a very rare and very well equipped Hymer A Class B584. These do not come on the market very often and especially when they're as nice as this one. I have had the opportunity to look this one over and my impression is that its as good as they come. On the mechanical side of things, the engine has had a recent timing belt and service however its only receipted and not logged on the service book and its been regularly serviced over the last few years. It drives excellent, but I'll explain more shortly. This vehicle is suited more for the European traveller as it's a LHD. There are a few age related marks as you would expect for motorhome of this age and mileage, but my opinion is that's its certainly well above average and been very well looked after. Someone in the past has spent a small fortune on this motorhome and I mean a small fortune.
Sleeping: There is a very comfortable drop down bed above the cab and the long sofa converts into a nice double bed if required, however there are only three belted seats , speaking of which, the vehicle has three captain seats and an extendable table.
Extras include, solar panel, scooter rack, bike rack, air ride suspension, rear habitation air con and new carpets. The lounge area seating, drivers and passenger seats are in a lovely blue leather.
LED lighting, fully automatic Oyster satellite system, TV and electronic auto clutch fitted as extras.
Driving experience: I drove the vehicle approx 40 miles and I can assure it drives as good as anything I have driven in years, very smooth and the engine pulls fantastic. The gearbox I found very unusual to be honest, as it's the first time I had come across this type. There is a button on the gear stick, which when you push engages the clutch allowing you to change gear effortless without moving your left leg, so not quite a fully automatic gear box, but you don't have to use your left leg at all. As soon as you touch the brake, again this engages the clutch and you won't stall the engine. Fantastic and easy to drive.
