Broker's Comments

Located just outside Cirencester in Gloucestershire is this example of the popular Holdsworth Valentine motorhome. Holdsworth Motorhomes created some outstanding campervans and the quality of their work was recognised by external motor companies, most notably Volkswagen who gave the company approved status for its conversions. This particular Valentine has been with the present lady owner since it was only a few months old and has travelled much of Europe, north to the Arctic Circle, east to the Aegean and has spent most of its winters in southern Spain. It has the standard four berth and two travelling seatbelts arrangement. The overcab berth measures 6ft 2ins x 3ft 2ins and the two sofas easily convert into a 6ft 2ins x 4ft double. The kitchen has a fridge with small freezer box opposite the three burner gas hobs and grill next to the stainless-steel sink. There is storage throughout the van in a closet, eye level lockers, drawers and under the sofas. The rear washroom has a sink and lavatory. Hot water is provided by the Carver heater. The upholstery is totally mark free and with no wear marks on the driver or passenger seats looks great. This Valentine packs a lot into its 5.08m and the VW 2.4 engine pulls its 2765kg along with ease. There is a comprehensive service history in the photo album, including evidence of a new engine fitted by VW Swindon in May 2009 at 104,000 miles and the most recent cambelt and water pump replacement in Aug 2019 at 133,211 miles. The MoT is valid until Jan 2021. The latest habitation was undertaken in Aug 2019 and the van has been in dry storage since then. The motorhome comes with two new front tyres, two gas bottles and a bike rack. There are some issues commensurate with the age of the Holdsworth. The fuel gauge and the radio are not presently working. In the washroom there is a repair to the sink and the shower extension from the taps is not extending. The fridge is not presently operating on gas with the gas ignitor identified as the problem at the last habitation. The Propex blown air heating is presently only blowing cool air. As may be expected with a van that has spent much of its time in hotter climes some of the decals have suffered sun damage. This is a Holdsworth that is itching to get back out onto the road and would provide a wonderful budget introduction to the world of motor homing. Please call Tonia or Martin for the full photo album and video.
