This is the holy grail of motorhomes, a motorhome at just under 6 metres long but with a large garage that sits below a height adjustable bed. The Chausson Flash 514 looks fantastic both inside and out and being built on the world famous Ford Transit chassis she is a real pleasure to drive.
At 5.99 metres long this is a motorhome that won't pose any problems driving down country lanes or when you are on a camp site and need to pop into town to buy a few essentials. Yet despite the compact size you have a substantial garage which means you can pack up and go travelling for weeks on end, and of course being 3500 kg in weight this motorhome can be driven by anyone on a standard UK driving license.
Built on the fantastic Ford Transit chassis this Flash 514 is powered by the excellent 2.0 itre engine that provides plenty of power and good fuel economy in equal measures. In the cab you have air-conditioning, cruise control, speed limiter, a radio CD player with Bluetooth compatibility, steering wheel mounted controls, power windows and mirrors, driver and passenger airbags and more. Both front seats swivel allowing the front passengers to dine at the extending table.
Behind the cab is the lounge dinette which has a forward facing two seater chair that is fitted with two seatbelts and on the opposite side you have a side facing single chair. At night time the dinette converts into a bed that will sleep one adult or two young children.
The mid-kitchen is equipped with a three gas burner hob and a grill as well as a fridge freezer, a stainless steel sink with a mixer tap and some kitchen cupboards. Opposite the kitchen is the ultra stylish and modern washroom which has a shower head built into the tap and then a perspex screen rotates around the edge to give you full enclosure. There is a storage cupboard for your toiletries, a Thetford cassette toilet, a wash basin with a mixer tap and a large mirror so you have everything you need to get yourself ready in the mornings.
At the rear there is a transverse fixed bed which is a substantial size given the fact this is a compact motorhome and two adults will sleep here in real comfort. Above your head is plenty of storage space in the overhead lockers and there is also a TV on an adjustable bracket allowing you to watch your favourite programmes either relaxing in bed or from the comfort of your lounge.
This lovely motorhome will make a fantastic travelling partner for the next owner. It provides luxurious living space complimented by a number of useful features such as the garage, a solar panel to keep your leisure battery topped up and the fantastic Webasto diesel heating system.
