2021 Volkswagen Crafter LWB campervan with automatic gearbox, 16,000 miles and full Volkswagen service history. Built on the 3,500kg chassis, so it can be driven on a standard licence.
This is a well-finished self-build with a clean, modern design and a strong focus on usability and off-grid capability. The layout is practical, with a fixed rear transverse bed that can be extended for additional sleeping length, plus a front dinette that converts into a third berth. The cab retains three belted seats.
The kitchen is well laid out with a two-burner gas hob, oven and grill, sink and integrated fridge. Oppside is a fully enclosed washroom with shower and cassette toilet, making it suitable for longer trips.
Heating and hot water are covered by a diesel heater and Whale hot water system. The van also benefits from both cab air conditioning and habitation air conditioning, which is not commonly seen in most conversions.
The electrical system is a key feature, built around a lithium battery setup with Victron components and supported by a 450W solar panel. This provides strong off-grid capability. Water capacity is also above average, with approximately 120 litres fresh and 90 litres waste.
Externally, the van is fitted with an awning, external shower point and tow bar.
Gas has been installed by a professional engineer but there is no formal gas safety certificate. The current setup uses a 13kg bottle housed within a cupboard. To meet current habitation standards, a metal gas locker would likely be required if certification is needed.
Condition is very good overall, however there is visible cosmetic damage to the offside rear quarter panel and lower section, as shown. This does not affect the door operation or use of the vehicle. Estimated repair cost is around £700 and this has been reflected in the asking price.
Overall, this is a low mileage Crafter with a great usable layout and a strong off-grid specification, priced sensibly to account for the cosmetic work, and none branded conversion. OFFERS WELCOME.
